Jesse’s work as a soloist stems from intense periods of self-study and solo Indian performance.

He has always believed deeply in the purity of acoustic sound. This need to breathe at his own pace, and take off into an inner space is fulfilled for Jesse in his solo playing.

This video was made on Guru Purnima morning, in a cave in Cumbria opposite William Wordsworth’s old home.

“We started filming at 3am and I made this as a dedication to all of my teachers, Frank Perry, Ustad Dharambir Singh, Pandits Rajan and Sajan Mishra and Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty.”

Sacred Spaces is a project in process where Jesse will be working with the idea of reflection and resonance.

“Saxophonist Jan Garbarek, believes that the room you play in becomes the Saxophones resonance chamber, this has directly inspired My way of working for this project.”
